Join us for snacks and beer, celebrating 5 years of partnership with Finca El Tambor! Case Study is proud to present a short talk from Victor Calderon about sustainable coffee production at Finca El Tambor in Guatemala. The event will take place Wednesday June 7th, at the Alberta St. location from 7-9pm.
Victor Calderon is Case Study’s longest-standing coffee-producing partner, with 2017 marking 5 years that Case Study has purchased his coffee. Mr. Calderon will give a brief talk about coffee production at his farm followed by a Q&A, and mingling thereafter. There will be a slideshow of pictures from El Tambor, as well as free beer, refreshments, and brewed El Tambor coffee for all who attend.
Mr. Calderon’s talk will focus on the sustainable coffee production at Finca El Tambor, and how the impact of careful land planning, keen observation of weather patterns, and strategic allocation of natural resources and multi-crop plantings have led to many years of consistently healthy coffee production with increasing quality year after year. This year, Finca El Tambor placed 24th in the Guatemala Cup of Excellence. Mr. Calderon will also touch on his success using natural techniques he discovered in combating the well-known coffee fungus, Roya (coffee leaf rust), that has decimated coffee production throughout Latin America.
Please come join our crew for libations, coffee community, and an engaging discussion on how one of Case Study’s favorite coffees is produced!
