Cristal is sourced from multiple coffee-growing regions in Mexico, including areas near the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve in Chiapas, home to one of Mesoamerica’s largest continuous cloud forests. Coffee grown in these regions is typically shade-grown, and many farms naturally follow organic and Fair Trade practices.
This blend brings together Bourbon, Typica, and Mundo Novo — traditional varieties that have been grown throughout Latin America for generations and are valued for their cup quality.
Cristal is decaffeinated using the Mountain Water Process (MWP) by Descamex in Mexico. The process uses glacial spring water from Pico de Orizaba, Mexico’s highest peak, to remove caffeine while preserving the coffee’s flavor. Like Swiss Water Process, MWP is chemical- and solvent-free.
